Cherry Necklace – Tagua & Fair Trade
Fun, beautifully made Tagua Cherry Necklace. The long chain means the cherries sit around the midriff. Beautiful way to add character and colour to an outfit. Made fair trade in Ecuador.
Cherry pendant skillfully hand carved from a tagua nut*. A nut is selected that is as close to the desired finished shape as possible, which is then formed using a variety of sanding processes and polished to achieve a smooth surface. This ethical jewellery is handmade by Ronald & his friends in Sosote, Ecuador.
*Tagua is a nut from a type of palm that grows in the South American jungle. Often known as vegetable ivory, it is a sustainable and environmentally sound alternative to animal ivory.
Size: Approx chain length 90cm – cherry leaves approximately 2cm long- cherry fruit approx. 1cm long each.
Care Instructions: Tagua is a natural, organic material and the undyed products may darken slightly over time, this is normal. If your tagua jewellery is looking a bit dull it can be buffed up with a soft white cotton cloth. Although tagua is a fairly hardwearing material, please be aware that if you drop it onto or knock it against a hard surface it could chip. Never immerse your tagua jewellery in water as this can cause it to crack.
